Although it is a fact that identity theft hurts every consumer but when it comes to companies the implications of identity theft can be severe. In many cases, companies losing personal or financial information of their consumers have to face criminal prosecution. It is done in cases where companies don't inform people about the loss of their personal information.
Identity theft victims can always make companies face private lawsuits.
