Electronic Arts Website Hacked

Electronic Arts, a video game company, has been hacked and users of this site may have had their phone numbers, mailing addresses, and birth dates stolen.  This is just one of several video game sites that have been hacked in recent months.  Electronic Arts joins Sega and Sony on that list.

At this time no hacker group has stepped forward and laid claim to the data breach and taken responsibility for it.  The fantasy game Neverwinter Nights is the game that is associated with Electronic Arts.

The company is stating that no social security numbers or credit card data were taken.  In addition to names, mailing addresses and birth dates, they are also saying that user names, email addresses, encrypted passwords, phone numbers, and CD keys may have also been compromised but nothing has been verified yet.

Electronic Arts has not made any formal comments at this time.  The server that was breached was located in Edmonton, Canada at Electronic Arts Bioware studio.
