Hackers Attack Wrong Website
A group of hackers attacked a French rugby union team’s website instead of the German stock exchange website. The website for second division Dax was shut down for two weeks after its usual seven hundred daily page hits suddenly shot up to eighty thousand hits because of the hacker attack.
Thinking it had hacked into the German stock exchange website, the hackers put insults in German on the website. The hackers thought that this site had something to do with DAX, which is German’s blue chip stock market index but instead the Dax on this website had to do with rugby.
Because of the attack, this French rugby site is now two times as more popular as the official DAX website for the German blue-chip stock market.
