Rupert Murdoch’s British Tabloid Breached

Computer hackers have broken into the website and changed the front page with a false report of the mogul of media’s death.  Lulz Security, who stated in June that they were disbanding, redirected the readers to a twitter feed.  The twitter feed claimed that they now owned Sun/News of the World.  This particular hacker group has laid claim to data breaches on some of the more prominent websites such as the CIA, Sony Corp, and more.

At this time News International is at the middle of a phone hacking scandal that is being investigated.  It is Murdoch’s News Corporation’s British subsidiary.  This breach happened on Tuesday but on Monday Lulz Security began to tease its followers with a Tweet that they were holding onto emails from the Sun/News of the World and would release them on Tuesday.

They also began tweets telling everyone that what information they had contained logins and contact information of News International employees.  It said it also included ex-chief Rebekah Brooks but whether the details were genuine or not was not possible to verify.

News International stated that their technical teams were working on the situation.
