…..leaving your Social Security Card at home. In preparation for any need of the information, memorize your social security number. Or you can write it down in a piece of paper without dashes and without labeling what it is for.
…..not answering Internet and over the phone surveys that would require you to divulge your complete name, address, number of bank accounts and social security number.
…..getting the services of an identity theft solutions company. Just make sure that you acquire them from a reputable company.
…..shredding bills or any documents that you do not intend to file. Doing so will ensure that criminals will not get information even if they sort out your trash bag.
…..having documents photo copied. Medical records can also be used in identity theft. So it is best that you always request copies of your medical and dental records.
