IDENTITY GUARD®
IDENTITY GUARD® is an identity theft protection service offered by Intersections Inc. Like many other similar programs, IDENTITY GUARD® provides internet and credit report monitoring as well as assistance with closing accounts if a theft occurs.
Unlike many of its competitors, IDENTITY GUARD® offers different packages of services so that customers can tailor the product to their needs.
Features:
IDENTITY GUARD® offers three packages of services at different price points. All three offer the basics: credit bureau monitoring for at least one of the major bureaus, internet surveillance to ensure that your Social Security number or credit card or bank account numbers are not being used, and access to your credit score. Subscribers have access in the basic package to their credit score from one credit bureau. These are all of the services offered in the first level of protection, WATCHFUL EYE®.
IDENTITY GUARD® EXTRA CAUTION® also includes monitoring of all three of the major credit bureaus and access to your credit scores from all three bureaus as well as all of the base services.
IDENTITY GUARD® TOTAL PROTECTION℠ adds in anti-virus and anti-spyware protection for internet surfing, a password protector called ID Vault™ that keeps passwords and other vital information safe from phishing schemes and other identity theft initiatives, encrypted internet access to protect you from keylogging, and also offers daily surveillance of the Internet's financial black markets known to be frequented by identity thieves. The TOTAL PROTECTION℠ service also includes a Lost Wallet service to help you quickly cancel your credit cards and freeze bank accounts in the event your wallet is stolen. It also provides subscribers with up to $2,000 of emergency cash from your account.
Pricing:
The three IDENTITY GUARD® packages are priced as follows: WATCHFUL EYE® is $9.99 per month, EXTRA CAUTION® is $14.99 a month, and TOTAL PROTECTION℠ is $17.99 a month. The base package comes with $2,500 in insurance against loss due to identity theft. The two larger packages include $1,000,000 in insurance coverage*.
